Job Description
A successful Facility Maintenance Technician will carry out, as part of a team as directed by the GSE Manager work with other technicians, contractors, and support staff to ensure that all facilities managed with dnata Zanzibar are properly maintained. Responsible for installing new equipment or fixtures, repairing broken equipment, and even handling emergency situations such as water leaks or electrical failures etc

Duties/ Responsibilities
- Reading blueprints or layouts to determine work orders for repairs or improvements.
- Conducting minor repairs to equipment or facilities such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical work, or painting
- Maintaining inventory of supplies and ordering supplies needed for projects.
- Installing fire alarms, smoke detectors, sprinklers, and other safety devices
- Repairing or replacing damaged equipment or parts
- Conducting inspections to ensure that standards are met by contractors or subcontractors.
- Performing basic maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, replacing batteries in alarm clocks, or repairing small leaks in drains or toilets
- Ensure that standard safety procedures are followed during maintenance activities to prevent any personal injury or damage to company property.
- Ensure that all work-related activities carried out during the shift are recorded in the logbook/work order.
- Inform the GSE Manager of any spare parts & tools that are needed to ensure timely completion of any maintenance works.
- Maintain good housekeeping in the workshop & other work areas and take proper care of tools.
- Prepare and complete electronic work orders.
- Maintain company equipment; to be kept in clean, orderly, and functioning condition.
- Perform scheduled Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMI’s).
- Read and understand Manufacturer provided literature.
- Communicate with associates and management effectively regarding equipment conditions, issues, and recommendations.
- Routinely required to work under inclement weather conditions.
- Promote a safe work environment, and comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Able to meet the Station’s attendance standards.

- Report any hazards, injuries, ill-health or near miss occurrence to your supervisor or employer.
- Cooperate with your employer with any health and safety directives in the workplace
Job Specific Skills/ Requirements
- 2 – 5 years related experience and/or training.
- Professional and detail-oriented thought process.
- Knowledge of Air conditioning systems, Electricity is a plus, but not required.
- Able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to lifting, pulling, and pushing heavy items of 75 pounds or more; as well as bending standing, climbing, or walking.
- Able to work various shifts, including weekends.
