Summary: The U.S. Mission in Tanzania is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the Dispatcher in the General Services Office. Supervisory Position: No. Relocation Expenses Reimbursed: No. Travel Required: Occasional travel.

Duties:

  • Operations Management (65%): Coordinates among users and drivers to meet requests and ensure efficient operations. Handles emergency transportation requests. Arranges work shifts and shuttle schedules to meet transportation needs. Serves as team leader for chauffeurs and ensures drivers’ appearance and vehicle cleanliness.
  • Fleet Management (15%): Analyzes fuel usage and vehicle maintenance data. Submits vehicle mishap reports within 24 hours and participates in accident investigations. Develops vehicle rotation plans.
  • Administrative Functions (20%): Prepares reports on trip scheduling and chauffeurs’ shifts. Prepares monthly bills to subscriber agencies. Assists with motor pool inventory and coordinates vehicle maintenance.

Qualifications and Evaluations:

  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of motor vehicle dispatcher or fleet management experience is required.
  • Education: Completion of secondary school is required.
  • Languages: Level III (Good Working Knowledge) in both English and Kiswahili.
  • Job Knowledge: Good knowledge of host country traffic laws, vehicle licensing, and street routes.
  • Skills: Hold a valid Tanzanian driver’s license, strong leadership and technical skills, and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
