Job Description

We are moving to Zanzibar in 2025! Attitude is opening its first high end Hotel Villa in Matemwe, which will be an adults-only hotel with 74 villas, two restaurants and two bars.  We are looking for a Sales Manager who cares about people, the community and sustainability! Of course, it is also about creating a customer experience that stands out!

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Goals for Sales Manager:

  • Be an example and ambassador of Attitude DNA all the time: Adapt Attitude’s core values and best practices to fit the Zanzibar local culture, ensuring alignment with the company's purpose.to achieve and maintain Family Member and Guest satisfaction all the time.
  • Integrate Business Strategies and Attitude Best Practices: Develop and align business strategies that focus on Attitude's three main pillars—People First, Local All The Way, and The Environment, incorporating these principles into best management practices to drive sustainable long-term success.
  • Company Culture & Employee Engagement: Maintain and reinforce company culture in daily operations, creating a positive, engaging experience for both employees and customers. Ensure legal compliance.
  • Transparent Communication: Foster open, transparent communication with all Family Members to build trust, improve engagement, and enhance teamwork.
  • Leadership & People Management: Promote a culture of proximity with employees, create and maintain a great place to work culture, ensuring employees are physically, emotionally and psychologically safe in their work environment.
  • Cost Efficiency: Ensure the execution of strategic business plan that defines operational goals, and profitability objectives.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Foster a culture of transversality by promoting cross-departmental collaboration and communication to achieve common goals.

Operational/Technical Responsibilities:

Support to the Chief Sales Officer (Mauritius)

  • Develop and execute marketing, pricing, and commercial strategies.
  • Manage relationships with key Tour Operators (TOs) and build the “ATTITUDE BRAND.”
  • Act as an Attitude Brand Ambassador, promoting company culture internally and externally.
  • Conduct and handle yearly commercial expenses and room nights budgets in accordance with respective accounts.
  • Reporting directly to the Chief Sales Officer and indirectly to the General Manager, timely submission of reports to Head Office (Mauritius), and ensuring transparency and accountability as and when required.

Commercial Management

  • Oversee market performance and daily revenue/occupancy with the Revenue Analyst.
  • Ensure adherence to the commercial strategy across teams.
  • Supervise contracting with respective accounts.

Distribution Network Management

  • Visit partners, train staff, and coordinate roadshows and fairs.
  • Maintain strong relationships with inbound TOs and oversee fam trips.

Market Intelligence

  • Analyse competitors and conduct benchmarking.
  • Group Business Development
  • Drive group business growth and maximize revenue through reservations.

YOUR QUALITIES:

  • Bachelor Degree in Marketing/ Sales or Business Administration or any other related field.
  • At least 5 years proven experience in the same position.
  • Ability to embody and instil Attitude’s DNA and culture within the hotel.
  • Excellent communication skills: Clear, professional verbal and written skills and fluency in English and French. A third language would be a definite advantage.
  • An understanding of the African Market will be a definite advantage.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Ability to compete in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Outstanding customer service skills in handling customer queries and resolving issues.
  • Excellent organisation skills: Efficient in scheduling, multitasking, and document management.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient in office software.
