Our client is seeking a General Manager to oversee its operations, strategic growth, and engagement with key stakeholders. This leadership role involves membership development, event planning, sponsorship acquisition, and business services, while fostering partnerships across multiple sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Operations
- Develop and implement programs, organizational strategies, and financial plans.
- Oversee budget management and financial reporting.
- Supervise staff and interns, defining goals and ensuring project execution.
- Provide regular reports to the Board, including financial statements, KPIs, and membership data.
Business Development & Membership Growth
- Oversee membership acquisition, retention, and engagement strategies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with businesses, investors, and key partners.
- Support international companies entering the local market with business services.
Event & Partnership Management
- Plan, coordinate, and execute networking events, forums, and business roundtables.
- Secure keynote speakers, sponsors, and key industry stakeholders for events.
- Strengthen collaborations with international and local institutions to promote business opportunities.
Communication & Representation
- Act as a key representative, ensuring strong visibility and influence within the business community.
- Manage communication efforts, including social media, newsletters, and official publications.
- Engage with international networks and maintain strategic partnerships.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, international relations
- Proven experience in business development, project management, or leadership roles.
- Fluent in English and French (Swahili is a plus).
- Strong networking, communication, and social media management skills.
- Understanding of international and local business environments.
- Must be Tanzanian or a candidate already residing in Dar es Salaam.
