Job Summary:
Senior HR Officer facilitates sound industrial relations management by providing front-line support on HR, Legal and Administration related matters in Arusha Branch and its supporting Regions and from time to time supporting Country HR Management systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides advice, and information and implements industrial relations and employment policies in the best interests of the company to drive a fair, respectful, diverse, and high-performance culture.
- You will also be working with other members of HR department and Company’s Legal advisor on the internal labour/civil matters including but not limited to Disciplinary hearings, Attending to Labour Disputes in CMA and in HC with the Company Lawyer, Drafting of Official HR letters such as Promotions, Terminations, Notifications.
- Implement employee relations, social and welfare activities, and employee support programs countrywide to create a conducive and respectful workplace and good working relationships between employees.
- Facilitate communication by providing guidance and consultation regarding problem-solving, dispute resolution, regulatory compliance, and litigation avoidance and strive to resolve internal conflict informally through appropriate conflict management and mediation techniques at the branch level.
- Investigate and recommend actions for staff grievances and complaints of harassment and discrimination.
- Develop cordial relations with the Trade Unions and their representatives
- Responsible for discipline management as per the discipline policy.
- Monitor staff employment details and ensure that each staff has an up to date file with valid required documentations i:e. employment contracts, up to date job description, IDs, Bio Date form
- Leave and attendance management.
- Maintain human resource files and records by legal requirements and company policies and procedures.
- Prepare and submit various monthly and year-end HR reports including but not limited to leave, terminations, transfers, and new hires.
- Coordinate staff recruitment and selection process
- Provide day-to-day benefits administration services and acts as the key point of contact for the medical scheme(s). Assist employees with enrolment, access, and claim issues as well as final withdrawal from the schemes.
- Support and coordinate annual staff appraisal, and staff training and ensure training records are up to date
- Working hand in hand with Legal and Compliance Regional team
- Serve as Internal HR Business Support in all HR, legal &compliance issues, Administration.
- Any other tasks you might be assigned by management
Principal Outputs of this Role:
Timely submission of reports Authority: Refer to Company Security Authority Matrix.
Accountability:
Sr HR Officer is accountable to Country Human Resources Manager, Africa HR , for the responsibilities stated on this job description. These responsibilities will be monitored and managed through performance appraisals from time to time during your internship contract.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Law, Social Sciences, General Management, Business administration or any Degree in any field with eight (8) years of experience in a labour-intensive and Union sable environment.
- Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification is a plus.
- Eight (8) years of experience managing HR processes in a labour-intensive and Union sable environment with at least 3 managing Employee Relations.
- Exposure to employee relations in a labour intensive and unionized environments
- Working knowledge in the application of labour/ employment laws, employment relations law, employee manuals, and handbooks

- Good leadership and management skills.
- Planning, coordination, and problem-resolution skills.
- Demonstrate a high degree of sensitivity, and confidentiality when dealing with internal and external customers.
- Influencer with excellent negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills
