Job Description

We are moving to Zanzibar in 2025! Attitude is opening its first high end hotel villas in Matemwe, which will be an adults-only hotel with 74 villas, two restaurants and two bars.  We are looking for a F&B Outlet Manager who cares about people, the community and sustainability! MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Goals for the F&B Outlet Manager:

  • Be an example and ambassador of Attitude DNA all the time: Adapt Attitude’s core values and best practices to fit the Zanzibar local culture, ensuring alignment with the company's purpose.to achieve and maintain Family Member and Guest satisfaction all the time.
  • Integrate Business Strategies and Attitude Best Practices: Develop and align business strategies that focus on Attitude's three main pillars—People First, Local All The Way, and The Environment, incorporating these principles into best management practices to drive sustainable long-term success.
  • Company Culture & Employee Engagement: Maintain and reinforce company culture in daily operations, creating a positive, engaging experience for both employees and customers. Ensure legal compliance.
  • Transparent Communication: Foster open, transparent communication with all Family Members to build trust, improve engagement, and enhance teamwork.
  • Leadership & People Management: Promote a culture of proximity with employees, create and maintain a great place to work culture, ensuring employees are physically, emotionally and psychologically safe in their work environment.
  • Cost Efficiency: Ensure the execution of strategic business plan that defines operational goals, and profitability objectives.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Foster a culture of transversality by promoting cross-departmental collaboration and communication to achieve common goals.

Operational/Technical Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage daily operations of all F&B outlets, including restaurant, bar, lounge, in-room dining, and private functions.
  • Ensure high levels of guest satisfaction through personalized service, quality control, and attention to detail.
  • Train, mentor, and manage a team of service staff, ensuring consistency in service standards and team motivation.
  • Support the pre-opening phase including staff hiring, training, SOP development, and setup of service systems.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure seamless coordination between kitchen and service operations.
  • Monitor inventory, manage stock levels, and oversee purchasing to minimize waste and control costs.
  • Implement and maintain health, hygiene, and safety standards in compliance with local regulations.
  • Develop innovative promotions, events, and upselling strategies to increase revenue and enhance guest experience.
  • Handle guest feedback and resolve complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain the aesthetic appeal of the outlet, ensuring cleanliness, ambiance, and setup are up to standard.
  • Reporting to the F&B Manager, timely submission of reports to Head Office (Mauritius), and ensuring transparency and accountability as and when required.

YOUR QUALITIES:

  • Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years proven experience as an F&B Manager or Outlet Manager in a villa environment.
  • Ability to embody and instil Attitude’s DNA and culture within the hotel.
  • Excellent knowledge of F&B operations, service standards, and guest relations.
  • Ability to manage a team with professionalism and inspire high-performance culture.
  • Knowledge of POS systems and hospitality software.
  • Excellent communication skills: Clear, professional verbal and written skills and fluency in English and French. A third language would be a definite advantage.
  • An understanding of the African culture will be a definite advantage.

  • Outstanding customer service skills in handling customer queries and resolving issues.
