Quality Assurance Engineer at Tabono Consult Tanzania

Tabono Consult on behalf of our esteemed client, we are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer to oversee and ensure compliance with quality standards in transmission and substation construction projects. The ideal candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree, 8+ years of experience, and a strong background in quality management for power transmission and substation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain Quality Assurance (QA) processes for transmission and substation projects.
• Conduct quality inspections and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
• Monitor construction activities and ensure adherence to design specifications, codes, and safety regulations.
• Review and approve material and equipment specifications to ensure quality standards are met.
• Investigate non-conformance issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to resolve quality-related concerns.
• Maintain and update QA documentation, reports, and records for project compliance.
• Conduct training sessions on quality control procedures and best practices.
• Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 and other relevant quality management systems.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Electrical, or related field).
• 8+ years of experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) within transmission and substation construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of IEC, IEEE, and other relevant industry standards.
• Experience with QA/QC documentation, inspections, and audits.
• Familiarity with power transmission systems, substations, and high-voltage equipment.
• Proficiency in QA software and reporting tools.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Certification in ISO 9001 Quality Management System or related quality assurance standards.
• Experience with contractor/vendor quality assessments.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
• Strong knowledge of quality assurance methodologies and standards.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
