Job Description

The Instrumentation Maintenance Worker will be looking after all installation, maintenance, and repairs of control and instrumentation systems and equipment. The role involves troubleshooting issues, performing routine maintenance, and upgrading systems as needed.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Carries out routine and planned maintenance on electronic/pneumatic instruments.
  • Ensures that instruments are in good working condition and environment is neat.
  • Communicate on the functioning of instruments.
  • Under supervision conduct a calibration of instruments (temperature, pressure, level, pH, weigh etc.)
  • Under supervision conduct a calibration of electro pneumatic equipment (valve, actuator, cylinder etc)
  • Involvement in of electric drive maintenances (siemens drives)
  • Ensure proper wiring installation in the plant.
  • Ensure working tolls are in good working condition and neat.
  • Involvement in maintaining the backup system of control power supply (UPS).
  • Able and ability to work under pressure.
  • Promote and adhere to Illovo’s procedures, policies, and guidelines, including, without limitation, those relating to SHERQ, Competition Law and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC).
  • Ensure safety of people and machines
  • Adhere to Illovo safety standards.
  • Adhere to Illovo values (Accountability, empowerment, integrity, commitment and inclusiveness)
  • Any other duties as may be assigned.

Job requirements:

  • Minimum NTA level 2 in Instrumentation or Equivalent from a recognized Institution.
  • Basic knowledge in electrical, electronics, pneumatic circuits reading and interpreting, faults tracing and rectification.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience.
  • Basic knowledge of piping and fittings
  • Basic computer literacy

Terms of service:  The successful candidate will be engaged on Permanent Contract.
