Job Description
The East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) is a 1,445km pipeline connecting Uganda and Tanzania. This large-scale infrastructure project involves multiple contractors, stakeholders, and strict adherence to engineering, safety, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and suspend work if necessary.
- Supervise piping prefabrication and construction, ensuring quality and adherence to standards.
- Report any construction challenges (e.g., material shortages, design conflicts) to the AGI Construction Site Lead.
- Monitor contractor activities, verifying equipment, manpower use, and progress.
- Provide technical support and clarify engineering documents.
- Oversee inspections, testing, and mechanical completion processes.
- Track project milestones, quality control checks, and required permits.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes (ASME, ASTM, ANSI, API, NEMA).
Accountabilities:
- Validate contractor progress and extra work requests.
- Assist in measuring daily/weekly work progress.
- Promote HSE programs and enforce approved procedures.
- Maintain documentation and progress reports.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector & NDT Level 2 certification (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of piping systems, steel structures, and relevant industry codes.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in large-scale oil & gas projects.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in design and project management software.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
