Job Description
The Communications Coordinator is the liaison and frontline support for the Marketing and Communications department facilitating ongoing communication on project flow with internal and external stakeholders to execute project deliverables demonstrating financial responsibility in purchasing, processing invoices, contracting vendors, and participating in annual audit processes.
Specific roles and scope responsibilities include:
- Ensure that TNC’s communication outputs from vendors are of a high standard, delivered within the agreed budget and timelines and respond to the needs of the target audience.
- Oversee and manage the brand assets registry including implementing operational delivery of branding principles whether applied internally or outbound including.
- Conceive and write creatively for various audiences from technical information.
- Coordinate, execute, monitor, and measure TNC Africa’s marketing and communications efforts.
- Manage vendor relations and help develop collateral for programs that align with the shared conservation agenda.
- Contribute to targeted marketing and communications deliverables aligned to skill set which can include social media posting, writing, editing, proofreading, and/or PowerPoint presentation support.
- Responsible for the Marketing & Communications helpdesk and tracking assignment allocations to team members.
- Assist in budget development, tracking, and monitoring.
- Apply relevant technology skills to prepare presentations and analyze data to construct reports.
- Coordinate meeting logistics, special events, and support administrative functions.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience cultivating and managing client/customer relationships.
- Experience writing, editing, and proofreading.
- Experience organizing and coordinating multiple projects.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Over 7 years’ relevant experience preferably in the INGO/ Development sector
- Multi-lingual skills appreciated.
- Multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience preferred.
- Knowledge and application of current and evolving trends in marketing.
- Ability to work in a team-based environment with internal and external partners.
- Demonstrated ability to conceive and write creatively for various audiences from technical information.
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
- Relevant technology skills required to prepare presentations and analyze data to construct reports.
- Practical knowledge of marketing and branding principles.
