Zanzibar White Sand Luxury Villas & Spa is a boutique five-star resort at the forefront of luxury hospitality in Zanzibar. We are looking for inspired individuals to join our team, who share our passion for excellence and are eager to contribute to creating extraordinary experiences for our guests.

Zanzibar White Sand Luxury Villas & Spa is looking for its future Executive Chef. You will be in charge of all the food outlets of the establishment: breakfast, the Beach Restaurant, the Doors to Zanzibar restaurant, room service, and banquets, as well as the two restaurants dedicated to our staff.

Team Management and Leadership

  • Organize the work of all kitchen staff – scheduling, HR follow-up, task allocation, communication of instructions...
  • Ability to adapt to the diverse demands of management, clients, and varying activity flows.
  • Possibility of split shifts based on operational needs.
  • Lead and maintain team cohesion and motivation.
  • Transfer knowledge and skills – a natural trainer.
  • Anticipate conflicts and dysfunctions – manage them.
  • Ensure training and follow-up.
  • Participate in the recruitment and integration of future staff.
  • Comply with Zanzibar's labor laws.
  • Be a proactive problem-solver.

In the Kitchen

  • Create a creative cuisine in line with the general management's instructions.
  • Adhere to high-quality and creative culinary standards.
  • Develop and create menus for all food outlets.
  • Knowledge of working techniques, cooking methods, and seasoning...
  • Execute all culinary techniques.
  • Create and update menus based on seasonal products and management expectations.
  • Respect the predefined cost per dish.
  • Manage inventory and ratios.
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP standards.
  • Implement a food safety management plan.
  • Maintain a cleaning plan for all culinary areas.
  • Inspect and ensure adherence to hygiene rules.
  • Ensure cleanliness of uniforms and grooming.
  • Manage technical and preventive maintenance follow-ups.
  • Manage kitchen material resources – purchasing and restocking.
  • Control the proper use of equipment and materials.
  • Establish an efficient work organization compatible with production and contingencies.
  • Organize workstations.
  • Create technical sheets.
  • Analyse costs and ratios.

Relations

  • Greet and interact with clients.
  • Build customer loyalty and attract new clientele.
  • Know the level of customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure the quality of service.
  • Prepare and place orders.

  • Oversee the smooth execution of planned events.
  • Serve as a liaison for commercial services on culinary offerings.
