Supply Chain Planning Specialist at Knauf Tanzania

As Supply Chain Planning Specialist at Knauf Gypsum Tanzania Limited will be responsible for coordinating various planning functions, including demand and supply planning, production and transport planning and material replenishment planning. Ensuring efficient and cost-effective supply chain processes while meeting customer demand and organizational goals.

What you’ll be doing:

• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders (e.g., Plant and Sales Team) to develop and maintain demand forecasting models for trading goods and as input for production plan according to the Sales and operations planning requirements.
• Analyze historical data and market trends to generate accurate forecasts.
• Develop production schedules and plans based on demand forecasts taking optimization of production efficiency while minimizing costs into account as well as coordinate with the Plant Team to ensure production targets are met.
• Ensure materials and other relevant items are available as needed for production taking supply lead time, vendor constraints and transportation constraints into account.
• Manage inventory levels to reduce carrying costs while meeting customer demand by balancing orders, demand and material inventory data together with Procurement and Warehousing Team.
• Transport planning for in- and outbound logistics including import and export activities.
• Identify possible future capacity constraints and bottlenecks in the supply chain.
• Measure, analyze and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to planning.
• Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction.

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in supply chain planning, demand forecasting, or a similar role.
• Experience in supply chain management and (optimization) concept.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into high-level analysis and planning.
• Experience in process improvement and project management.
• Proficient in supply chain planning software and ERP software to enable planning and reporting.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Accuracy as well as structured way of working.
• Ability to work with self-motivation under tight timelines
• Fluent in English – the respective language of the country is a plus
