Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Business Development Manager for our KIRLOSKAR Generator Division in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in generator sales and marketing, with prior experience working in East Africa. This role requires daily market visit, strategic thinking, sales expertise, and a deep understanding of the power generation Tanzania market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales & Business Development: Identify and develop new business opportunities for generator sales in Tanzania and across East Africa.
- Market Research: Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to develop effective sales strategies.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, contractors, and distributors.
- Technical Sales Support: Provide technical knowledge and sales consultation for generator products to potential clients.
- Revenue & Profitability Growth: Achieve and exceed sales targets through strategic planning and execution.
- Partnerships & Alliances: Develop relationships with OEMs, suppliers, and service providers to enhance product offerings.
- Tender & Proposal Management: Prepare and submit bids, quotations, and proposals in response to tenders and RFPs.
- After-Sales Service Coordination: Work closely with service teams to ensure excellent post-sales customer support.
- Team Collaboration: Coordinate with internal teams, including marketing, operations, and finance, for smooth execution of sales plans.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Minimum 4 years of experience in generator sales & marketing.
- Prior work experience in East Africa is a must.
- Strong understanding of power generation and diesel/gas generators.
- Proven track record in business development, B2B sales, and market expansion.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and drive sales growth.
- Willingness to travel within Tanzania and the East African region as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Business, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience working with major generator brands and power solutions.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and market dynamics in Tanzania and East Africa.
