Job Description
We are currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill the role of Relationship Officer, Personal Banking. The successful candidate will be responsible for advising clients, fostering business growth, providing financial investment guidance, ensuring customer satisfaction, retaining existing clients, and acquiring new customers through sales activities.
Responsibilities:
- Promote and sell various liability products offered by the bank, aiming to attract low-cost deposits from diverse customer segments; source for current and savings accounts.
- Seek new customers through existing leads, referrals, cold calling, etc., and maximize lead generation while ensuring timely follow-through and healthy closure rate of leads.
- Advise customers on available bank products and services based on an understanding of their financial needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Conduct planned direct promotion/marketing activities for products and services offered by the bank, and cross-sell secured assets where relevant.
- Adhere to expected due-diligence, internal policies, and KYC norms while opening new accounts.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers, offering high-level customer service.
- Screen clients with respect to eligibility requirements for loan conditions.
- Prepare loan application documents in line with the bank’s latest credit policy and procedural manual.
- Proactively conduct pre- and post-monitoring visits to clients to ensure their ability to make repayments based on their financial and personal circumstances.
- Achieve prescribed disbursement and deposit weekly and monthly targets.
- Write and submit periodic status reports to the branch manager, including daily activity reports and calls/follow-ups made.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized tertiary institution.
- 3 years’ experience in a sales and client management role in a financial institution.
- Knowledge of the banking industry, banking products, services, and regulations.
- Good selling and negotiation skills.
- Customer-centric with excellent communication skills.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools.
