Job Description
To manage a portfolio of corporate, retail and individual clients from a credit perspective, including the booking of all approved facilities in the core banking system and monitoring their performance and to maintain security documents for facilities granted by the bank.
Key Responsibilities/Tasks
Compliance:
- Monitor disbursement of approved facilities and ensure that they are compliant to the Bank’s policies and regulations
- Ensure post approval covenants and conditions are in compliance to the set policies and regulations such as maintenance of insurance register.
Credit Management:
- Regular monitoring of credit portfolio and quality of assets
- Manage process of opening of quality accounts, maintenance of facility limits and interest rates including static data maintenance
Reporting:
- Prepare Banks periodic reports to BOT, Directors, Management Credit Committee (MCC), and the Board Credit Committee (BCC)
Customer Service:
- Attend customer queries relating to credit facilities together with providing assistance to auditors
Risk Management:
- Develop, update and maintain risk procedures and systems with respect to risk identification, risk assessment, risk monitoring, risk mitigation strategies and risk reporting
- Ensure effective adoption and utilization of risk management tools
- Drive remediation of risk management exceptions identified during audit or risk reviews
Promote risk management culture
Operations:
- Maintain Accounts in the core banking system
- Manage the process of opening bank guarantees and maintain bank guarantee records
- Providing issuance of balance confirmation letters to Auditors
- Issuance of offer letters of loans and overdraft secured by cash
Registry Function:
- Register foreign debt to the Bank of Tanzania
- Prepare and maintain seal register
- Manage the custody of securities documentations eg. maintaining of security ledger, preparation of discharge memos, etc.
Administration:
- Support the Head of Credit in preparing credit related budget for board approval by providing input
- Overall in charge of staff within department including leave management, performance appraisal, training, coaching and mentoring the unit
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor from time to time.

Academic / Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in banking, finance, business management or any other related field
Working Experience Required
- A minimum of 3 years working experience at management level
