Job Description
The IBP Manager for the Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) region will be responsible for leading and executing the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process to ensure alignment between demand, supply, financial planning, and strategic business objectives. This role requires strong cross-functional collaboration, data-driven decision-making, and process optimization to drive business performance across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
Integrated Business Planning (IBP) Execution:
- Lead the IBP process across SSA, ensuring alignment between demand forecasting, supply planning, and financial goals.
- Develop and implement best practices in IBP, driving continuous improvement in the process.
- Facilitate monthly IBP cycle meetings, including demand reviews, supply reviews, and executive IBP reviews.
- Ensure adherence to IBP governance, timelines, and policies.
Demand & Supply Alignment:
- Work closely with sales, marketing, and finance teams to ensure accurate demand forecasting.
- Collaborate with supply chain teams to optimize inventory, production, and distribution plans.
- Identify and mitigate supply-demand imbalances and risks to ensure seamless execution.
- Oversee sales forecasting accuracy by implementing advanced statistical modeling and market trend analysis.
Sales Forecasting & Material Planning:
- Develop robust sales forecasting processes to improve demand accuracy and reduce forecast error.
- Work with commercial teams to integrate market intelligence and customer insights into forecasts.
- Align material planning with sales forecasts to ensure optimal raw material availability and supplier coordination.
- Collaborate with procurement to mitigate risks related to material shortages or excess inventory.
Inventory Management & Production Planning:
- Establish and maintain optimal inventory levels to balance service levels and working capital.
- Lead inventory optimization initiatives to reduce waste, obsolescence, and stock-outs.
- Align production planning with IBP outputs to enhance manufacturing efficiency and responsiveness.
- Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure production schedules meet customer demand while optimizing resource utilization.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Act as the key liaison between commercial, finance, supply chain, and operations teams to ensure integrated planning.
- Drive alignment between financial planning and IBP outputs to enhance decision-making.
- Lead change management initiatives to enhance IBP adoption and effectiveness across the organization.
Data Analytics & Performance Tracking:
- Utilize data analytics tools to enhance forecasting accuracy and scenario planning.
- Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to IBP effectiveness.
- Provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership to drive strategic decision-making.
Process Improvement & Best Practices:
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement industry best practices in IBP.
- Ensure continuous improvement through training, capability building, and leveraging new technologies.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives to enhance planning accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related field. MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in supply chain planning, demand planning, or IBP roles within Pharma or FMCG, manufacturing, or similar industries.
- Strong knowledge of Integrated Business Planning, Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), and supply chain principles.
- Proficiency in data analytics tools (SAP IBP, Power BI, Advanced Excel, etc.).
- Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven mindset.
