Accountant at ITHUBA Tanzania

To provide accounting, analytical and reporting support within the Finance department, ensuring that all financial data are accurately processed into the accounting system, and that all accounting processes are aligned with internal company policies and procedures and the Lottery License Agreement

Responsibilities

• Review financial data and prepare supporting schedules according to monthly close schedules, facilitating and completing monthly close procedures
• Analyse revenues, commissions and expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately on a monthly basis
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations
• Assist with analysing financial statements on a monthly basis and report on variances.
• Assist with financial and internal audits
• Assist with corporate reporting requirements
• Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls
• Report to management regarding the finances of establishment as needed
• Liaise with Finance Manager regarding any discrepancies that may arise
• Prepare, examine, or analyse accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards
• Survey operations to ascertain accounting needs and to recommend, develop, or maintain solutions to business and financial problems
• Accurate and timely reporting in support of business requirements
• Full compliance to License Agreement in terms of reporting, management of Accounting Entries and Payments
• Completion of monthly Schedules, ensuring alignment with the Licence Agreement
• Full compliance with no adverse findings from Lottery Regulator, Internal and External Audits
• Manage Supplier Development and Procurement Spend from a Finance perspective and report on other elements where Corporate Relations, Human Resources and Legal is involved as soon as month end has closed.
• Accounts Payable Management - Ensure that supplier invoices are in accordance withthe approved SLA and adhere to agreed payment terms
• Accounts Payable Management - Ensure that all winner payments are accurately processed as per company policy and procedures and are paid timeously
• Accounts Payable Management – Ensure that all payments in regards to the licence obligations, taxes and other statutory obligations are accurately reconciled, signed off and timeously processed and paid
• Ecommerce Management - Ensure that all Ecommerce wallets are FIC compliant and that effective Anti-Money Laundering controls are practiced
• Ecommerce Management – Ensure that all Ecommerce transactions are reviewed and validated before being entered into the system and that all withdrawals are accurately and timeously processed and accounted for
• Accounts Receivable Management – Ensure that all invoices are reconciled and accurately processed, allowing effective collection of revenue in accordance with the Licence Agreement
• Effective Shared Services to all internal and external customers, including accurate and timeous submission of reports as required by management on all special projects outside the normal scope of work
• Ensure that all statutory and other legislative reports are reconciled and submitted as per legislative and licence requirements
• Timeously reconcile and accurately report figures as per the National Lottery License Agreement

Qualifications

• Experience Required: 3+ years of experience in a financial environment
• Experience Preferred: 3 years + experience in the accounting field and in the gaming or lottery industry
• NQF Level:Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting or Finance option) or Bachelor of Business Administration (Accounting or Finance option).
• Qualifications Required: University Degree in accounting or related fields.
