The Tanzanian Children’s Fund (TCF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty in the Karatu region of northern Tanzania. Established in 2003, TCF employs a holistic approach to community development, focusing on education, healthcare, economic empowerment, and child welfare.
Mission and Impact
TCF’s mission is to ensure that all children and families in the Karatu region lead healthy and productive lives, becoming positive agents of change for their country. Their initiatives include:
- Rift Valley Children’s Village: A permanent, loving home for over 100 marginalized children.
- Education: Operation of three schools aimed at revolutionizing the standard of education.
- Healthcare: Provision of free healthcare services to improve community well-being.
- Economic Empowerment: Offering microfinance training and loans to empower parents and support families.
Collectively, these programs serve a community of approximately 10,000 people, providing them with the tools and opportunities needed to overcome generational poverty.
