Overview
Policy Forum Tanzania is a network of civil society organizations that aims to improve the lives of Tanzanians by influencing policy processes. The organization was founded in 2003.
Mission:
- To influence policy processes for equitable use of public resources and enhanced accountability
- To improve quality of life for Tanzanians
Focus: Local governance, Public money, and Active citizens’ voice.
Activities:
- Monitor the acquisition and use of public money
- Monitor the decentralization of power to regional, council, and subcouncil levels of government
- Foster a culture of more informed public debate on issues of development, governance, and accountability
Governance:
- Policy Forum is governed by a Board of Directors who are elected from the PF membership
- The highest decision-making body is the General Assembly made up of all voting members of the network
Membership:
- Policy Forum is a member of Tax Justice Network Africa, a Pan-African organization
- Policy Forum is also a member of the Global Alliance for Tax Justice and HakiRasilimali
