Overview
The Occupational Safety and Health Authority (OSHA) in Tanzania is a government agency under the Prime Minister’s Office (Labour, Youth, Employment, and Persons with Disability). Established in 2001, OSHA’s primary responsibility is to oversee occupational safety and health across Tanzania Mainland. This includes enforcing the Occupational Health and Safety Act No. 5 of 2003, advising the government on workplace safety policies, conducting training and awareness programs, and performing research to improve occupational health and safety standards.
