Overview
The Ellison Institute of Technology (EIT) Oxford is a pioneering research and development center established by Larry Ellison, co-founder of Oracle Corporation. Situated within The Oxford Science Park, the institute is currently expanding into Winchester House to accommodate significant growth, anticipating a tripling in headcount over the coming years.
EIT Oxford’s mission is to translate scientific discoveries into real-world solutions, focusing on four critical areas:
- Health and medical science
- Food security and sustainable agriculture
- Climate change and clean energy
- Government innovation in the era of artificial intelligence
In collaboration with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, EIT representatives visited SerenOx Africa and the Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS) in Tanzania. These discussions focused on establishing clinical trial infrastructure within the country, signaling EIT’s commitment to advancing medical research capabilities in the region.
Furthermore, EIT has launched the Africa Clinical Research Network (ACRN), aiming to bolster digital infrastructure for clinical research across Africa.
