Overview
Danmission is Denmark’s oldest and largest missionary organization, with a history dating back to 1821. Rooted in the Danish National Church (Folkekirken), Danmission is dedicated to promoting peace, justice, and sustainable development through its work in Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East.
The organization focuses on three core areas:
- Sustainable Stewardship of Natural Resources: Supporting communities in managing and protecting their natural resources while addressing climate change and environmental degradation.
- Dialogue and Peacebuilding: Promoting social cohesion through dialogue, conflict resolution, and efforts to combat extremism.
- Contextual Theology for Faith and Social Action: Engaging faith communities in locally-driven initiatives that foster democracy, inclusion, and resilience.
In East Africa, including Tanzania, Danmission collaborates with local partners to strengthen communities’ capacity to access, use, and protect natural resources.
