Senior Accountant at Pesapal Tanzania

We are looking for an individual who thrives on pushing the boundaries of Accounting and Managing Finance, who sees challenges as opportunities to explore new avenues of expression. As a Senior Accountant with us, your role is to ensure the accuracy and completeness of our financial records, with a particular emphasis on reconciliations. You would be a fit if you can:

• Oversee Accounting Operations: Manage all aspects, including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition
• Ensure month end reporting process to deliver timely and accurate financial reports
• Implement efficient financial processes and procedures and monitor compliance
• Prepare budgets and business performance including variance analysis and actuals vs budget for the country

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the efficient management of company’s financial accounts and that they are aligned to the approved mandates.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities including reconciliations of bank, coordination, and completion of annual audits, and reviewing financial reports/support as necessary.
• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and annual accounts.
• Maintain and manage company’s bank accounts register and update any changes.
• Ensure the movement of cash within the operating countries is in a tax efficient manner.
• Ensure all markets carry out bank, supplier and petty cash reconciliations.
• Supervise and participate in the preparation of various financial statements and reports.

Must Have Job Requirements:

Education/Experience Needed:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting option & ACCA or CPA (T)
• At least 7 years’ experience in a similar function
• Demonstrated experience in leading and supervising a team
• Proficient in Ms. Office, QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics, or SAGE
• Knowledge of finance processes, principles and systems

• Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data, identify trends, variances, and anomalies, and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Effective time management skills to meet deadlines and support team commitments.
