Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Intern PHP Programmer with a strong interest in database administration, especially MySQL. As an intern, you will be involved in the development and maintenance of web applications using PHP and be responsible for supporting the management and optimization of MySQL databases. You will gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced developers and database administrators in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of dynamic web applications using PHP.
  • Write clean, efficient, and reusable code following best practices.
  • Support the creation, modification, and optimization of MySQL databases.
  • Collaborate with the development team to design and implement database structures.
  • Assist with database backups, restores, and maintenance tasks.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to database performance and web applications.
  • Work on data migration, integration, and conversion projects between different database systems.
  • Create reports and run queries to support business operations.
  • Perform routine database monitoring to ensure optimal performance and data integrity.
  • Document code and database changes for future reference.

Requirements:

  • Basic understanding of PHP procedure and object-oriented programming concepts.
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a must.
  • Basic knowledge of MySQL database administration (including installation, configuration, and optimization).
  • Familiarity with SQL queries, joins, indexes, and transactions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems in PHP and MySQL environments.
  • Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) is added.
  • Strong desire to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Enrollment in or completion of a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix environments is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of frameworks like Laravel, CodeIgniter, or Symfony is a plus.
  • Familiarity with cPanel, MySQL Workbench, or phpMyAdmin for database management.
